Conn@ct Now Radio Initiative Northern Uganda, 2011 – 2012
A participatory radio training program helping young people use community radio to improve their lives and communities. Youth produced an hour-long radio program and presented it in villages to tribal chiefs, leaders and family.  (Training Director/ Facilitator)

Conn@ct Now Video Initiative South Sudan, 2011
A participatory video training program involving development workers from three provinces in the new South Sudan. The training built the capacity of organizational staff and community partners to support youth in making and presenting videos advocating community change. Conn@ct Now Media Initiative Sudan, 2010
A participatory media training program enabling young people in former war zones to use digital media to improve their lives and villages.  The training brought together youth and adults to learn how to use video and still cameras and create media on pressing local issues that were screened and discussed in community settings. Capetown Community TV  South Africa, 2008
A community television training program for diverse young mediamakers.  Youth produced short videos that aired on the community media channel. (Training Director/Facilitator)

UNICEF Youth Radio Initiative Ethiopia, 2006 – 2007

A community radio training program that brought together youth and adult radio producers from three regions of Ethiopia to co-create radio programs targeting youth about HIV/AIDS prevention and education.  Participants produced 13 hour-long radio programs that aired around the country. Communities Organizing Resources Sacramento, CA 2003
A summer media arts program for low income and immigrant youth.  Participants engaged in photography and video production and generated stories exploring ethnicity, family, and homelessness.  The youth productions were screened locally and used in a statewide program to increase academic achievement through out-of-school learning opportunities. Appalshop Media Arts Center Whitesburg, KY, 2002
Digital storytelling workshops examining the growing prison system in Appalachia involving former inmates, their families, and criminal justice advocates. The workshops produced stories aired on community radio and included in a web-based digital story quilt. (Co-producer/Facilitator)

Amy Biel Foundation South Africa, 2001
A community photography workshop for AIDS youth peer educators in a South African township. Participants generated photographs to use in their prevention projects and to show at the township museum. (Creator/Facilitator)

Appalshop Media Arts Center Whitesburg, KY, 2001
